Being a dog loving family, we have always had dogs in our home. Our last dog was a Dalmatian called Daisy, although she was a beautiful and loving companion, she was not the most well behaved dog you could ever meet. Daisy didn’t get on well with other dogs, so she didn’t go to the park often and she also pulled constantly on the lead. When Daisy passed away we were all devastated and felt guilty that we hadn’t given her the life she deserved. I made a promise that if I ever had another dog I would do all that I could to make sure my next dog would have a great life. Five months ago I bout a Yorkshire terrier puppy and before I picked up “Tilly” from the breeder I had already booked puppy classes at Crosskeys Training & Behaviour Centre. We have learned so much in a short time by doing the classes, like what food is best and why, and safety training for your dog, and how to train successfully using clicker training. After the puppy classes had ended we immediately booked another class (intermediate) of which we are really enjoying, so much so that we hope to continue in further classes. Tilly is a very happy dog but timid with strangers, she has been like this from when we bought her from the breeder. We have been shown how to help her through this behaviour and now Tilly is getting more confident every day. I can’t thank Stephen and his expertise enough and I can relax in the knowledge that I am doing my best to ensure Tilly has a long and happy life!
